lunch: things that make me laugh

Posted by natanna at 01:22 PM on November 23, 2009.

Noted on the toilet door:

DO NOT SQUAT!

It will be dangerous to squat.
It will be embarrassing when people come to rescue you.

Bomba people will be called.

(cartoon of man with a foot stuck in the toilet bowl being carried out by the fire dept)

Well, that's not verbatim, but... maybe I'll take a pic the next time.

Day 22!

Posted by natanna at 04:48 PM on November 22, 2009.

I think I try to cram too many things into one Sunday. Or maybe I am too last minute a person.

So far, nanowrimo + vox prac + body jam + vox class = quick run through, maybe 200 words and being late.

So it's four-ish in the afternoon and I think I need to get some wordcount down before dinner. 2012 maybe after that.

I spend a lot of money when the elephant comes home :(

Meh.

Goals for the day: at least another 2k words, then maybe the book review.

We'll see how it goes.

It's funny how my blog turns into something like a journal when I'm doing nanowrimo. Have too many words to spew out in the novel to think of anything funny and interesting to say.

Maybe I'll post an excerpt. Hm, yes.

“Ah Girl!” he called as he entered the apartment (With the L appropriately not pronounced, in the typical Chinese-school way – something like… 'ah girrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr' ).

There was no response.

“Oi Ah Gir ah! Are you awake or not?” he called again.

There was a grumbling from the smaller room, and Princess came out. “What you want now?”

“Can make me Milo ah? I need a drink before I sleep.”

“Make by yourself lah. Big baby.”

“Aiya, do it for your kor la. Simple thing like that also…”

“Fine, fine, fine. Bum la you.”

“Ha, and then what was that thing about buying a Ming vase from that that Ting ting something shop? Too rich is it?”

“Haiya cheap only la. Less than hundred.”

“Imitation is it?”

“Dunno la.”

“Then why you buy?”

“Pretty what.”

Prince shook his head at this. “Girls!” he exclaimed. Taking his steaming hot Milo from his sister’s hands, he went into his room and shut the door.

Princess grumbled at his closed door for a while, then switched off the lights and went back to bed, complaining about pampered little boys who refused to grow up.

(Ok, that was rather random, but I liked that bit ;) )

(8 more days, 15k to go. Time to buck up.)

(My writing's normal curve ends at about 30k. For some reason. I'll be a short novelist, I think. But some classic novels are quite short at any rate. Argh. Okay. Time to write.)

(I wish twitter weren't so distracting.)

(Bye now. Really. Yes. Bye.)

Scary-Movie Function

Posted by yongmay at 10:38 PM on November 18, 2009.

My favourite Canon camera has gone cuckoo!

Yes, the same camera that helped me capture the beautiful scenery of Mt. Kinabalu and Perth.

It has... *chokes back tears* gone haywire!

The pictures are kinda freaky... when taken without using the flash. It is as if it's taken from a horror movie.

My brother and dad had fun with it though. Haha.

Check it out:

AWAY :(

Posted by natanna at 01:07 AM on November 16, 2009.

I will be away in Sungai Petani from Monday to Friday.

Pray for internet connection. (HAHA)

No nanowrimo updates today, 0 wordcount for the day. Boo :(

Am loving #amwritingparty peeps on twitter though. Lots of love and motivation :)

But am enjoying Andrew Kooman's book -  Ten Silver Coins: The drylings of Acchora.

If I'm bored enough in SP, besides enormous wordcount, you'll get a review.

We'll see. :)

Day 14

Posted by natanna at 11:22 AM on November 14, 2009.

Okay, so good news and bad:

The word count is well above the daily target despite the 3 non-writing days this week.

This weekend is messy with stuff, and apparently I'm on duty. Hm.

I'm going to be in SP next week and may not have internet access. Ugh.

The writing is slow today, mainly because I'm distracted and I don't really know where I want the story to go.

On the other hand, I now have fairies in my story! :)

I wanted to work on the script, but haven't. Should probably look at it now.

Oh malasnya...

I had a random conversations post brewing in my head, but I can't remember anymore.

"Let's Just Fall In Love Again"

Posted by yongmay at 07:50 PM on November 13, 2009.

Ever since I've found out that Jason Castro's single "Let's Just Fall In Love Again" is being played on the radio, I kinda look forward to getting stuck in a traffic jam - just so I could listen to his single. Heh heh :P

I know A LOT of my friends would roll their eyes and say "seeeeee-riously.... Jason Castro?"

Haha.

I mean... Why not?

His voice is soothing and pleasant to the ears. It just sounds so... happy. :D

My dad thinks he's not bad too, you know...

Oh. By the way, his album is coming out next year! Woo hoo! I can't wait!

I'm a Jason Castro fan, can't you tell? *winks*

Here's Let's Just Fall In Love Again by the man himself.
